The Swedish-Norwegian soprano Sandra Bendrik graduated from the University College of Opera at Stockholm University of the Arts in 2024 and is, from the 2024/25 season, engaged for two years with the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet through WOYS - the Wilhelmsen Opera Studio for Young Singers. Her first year includes roles such as Annina in Verdi's La traviata, Stasi in Kálmán's Die Csárdásfürstin, Pepík in Janáček's The Cunning Little Vixen, as well as various opera and concert productions.
In the summer of 2024, Sandra will participate in the Kirsten Flagstad Festival in Hamar, where she will sing the role of Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and take part in several concerts. During the University College of Opera's graduation production at Wermland Opera in the spring of 2024, Sandra performed the role of Rosaura in Wolf-Ferrari's Le Donne Curiose, under the direction of Stina Ancker and conductor Andreas Hansson.
In 2023, Sandra Bendrik made her debut on the stage of the Royal Swedish Opera, singing the role of A slave during her internship in Strauss's Salome. Sandra has also appeared at the Drottningholm Palace Theatre, where she was the cover for the lead role of Titania in Purcell's A Midsummer Night's Dream. That same year, Sandra sang Micaëla in Operaviva's production of Bizet's Carmen.
During her studies, Sandra has performed in numerous concerts with, among others, the Royal College of Music's Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Tobias Ringborg, the Royal Institute of Technology's Academic Orchestra led by Mats Janhagen, and with the Royal Swedish Orchestra at the Royal Swedish Opera's New Year's Concert in 2022, conducted by Vincenzo Milletarì.
Sandra Bendrik also holds a degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre from The Urdang Academy in London, obtained in 2018, which was followed by international tours in the USA, Europe, and Asia.
In 2023 and 2024, Sandra has been awarded scholarships from the Swedish Wagner Society, the Joel Berglund Scholarship Fund, the Lisbeth Håkansson Memorial Fund, the Ruth Otterman Scholarship Fund, the Scholarship Fund of July 25 1988, the Anders Sandrew Vocal Scholarship, and the Barbro Salén Vocal Scholarship.
