Swedish premiere of Wilhelmine von Bayreuth's Argenore at Confidencen, Stockholm.
Den Andra Operan (DAO) is a Swedish opera company that produces operas written by women. This summer they have presented seminars and concerts with female opera compositions ranging from 1625-1909. This years' full opera production is Wilhelmine von Bayreuth's Argenore, composed in 1740.
The Swedish premiere of Argenore takes place at Confidencen, Sweden’s oldest rococo theatre, situated at the Ulriksdal Palace near Stockholm. The premiere is on September 18 with one more performance on September 19.
In the role of Alcasto, we hear young baritone David Risberg, who gratuated from the Opera program at the Stockholm University of Arts this spring. David will make his Royal Swedish Opera debut later this season in the production of The Snow Queen, Snödrottningen.
