Swedish Premiere of Wainwright's opera Prima Donna at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm
The Royal Swedish Opera presents Rufus Wainwright's opera Prima Donna, with Elin Rombo in the title role. In the role of her butler Philippe we hear Jeremy Carpenter. Wainwrigth's Prima Donna opens on October 10 with further performances until November 14 2020. From November 28, the performance will be available at the Royal Swedish Opera streaming service OperanPlay, see the link below.
Elin Rombo has appeared at the Royal Swedish Opera in several roles and most recently as Cunegonde in Bernstein's Candide. This spring she participates in the world premiere of Philip Glass' opera Circus Days and Nights, a co-production of Cirkus Cirkör and Malmö Opera. Elin will also visit Valetta in Malta, where she appears as Agnès in George Benjamin's Written on Skin.

Jeremy Carpenter has the previous season appeared as Dr. Vigelius and The baron in Schreker's Der ferne Klang and as Dr. Pangloss in Candide, both at the Royal Swedish Opera. This season include Angelotti in Tosca and Germont in La traviata, on the same stage. Jeremy will also be a guest in Valetta, Malta, where he sings the role of the Protector in Written on Skin.
