Premiere of Pique Dame at Semperoper in Dresden!
Semperoper presents their last premiere of the season 2022/2023; Tschaikowsky's Pique Dame, or The Queen of Spades. The production is staged by the renowned German film and opera director Andreas Dresen in his very first production for the Semperoper and in the role of Count Tomsky, we hear Swedish baritone John Lundgren.
The premiere takes place on July 1st, with five performances until July 15. The production will return to the Semperoper stage again this autumn, opening on September 29 with performances until November 19.
The Sächsischer Staatskapelle, Staatsopernchor and Kinderchor der Semperoper Dresden will be led by Russian conductor Mikhail Tatarnikov.
