Malin Byström makes her house- and role debut as Elisabeth de Valois at Wiener Staatsoper
Wiener Staatsoper revives their production of Verdi's Don Carlos, in the French five act version, where Malin Byström for the first time appears in the role of Elisabeth de Valois. The role debut is also Malin Byström's house debut and her first production on the Wiener Staatsoper stage, where she is joined by tenor Jonas Kauffmann who appears in the title role.
The opening night of the revival of Don Carlos is on September 27 2020, with performances until October 11. Don Carlos will also be livestreamed from the Wiener Staatsoper website on October 4 at 17:00.
Malin Byström has this spring appeared in a livestreamad and Swedish Television broadcasted concert with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and she appeared as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni in the worldwide live streamed production from Berwaldhallen in Stockholm with Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, led by Daniel Harding. This autumn will include the title role in a concert version of Tosca at Deutsche Oper in Berlin and she will this winter appear in the same role at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm.
