Sofie Asplund sings Zerbinetta at the Göteborg Opera's Festive Season opening.
The Göteborg Opera opens the season with the concert Salutations!, led by Yoel Gamzou. The soloists of the Göteborg Opera performs three pieces from the classical opera repertoire, chosen this spring by the audience.
During the concert soprano Sofie Asplund will sing the aria of Zerbinetta; Großmächtige Prinzessin, from Ariadne auf Naxos by Richard Strauss. The programme also include music by Johann Strauss Jr., Mahler and Schubert.
The concert takes place at the Göteborg Opera stage on Sunday August 15 at 18:00 and can be viewed online from the Göteborg Opera website.
We are delighted that this season at the Göteborg Opera hear Kerstin Avemo in Schönberg's Pierrot lunaire, AnnLouice Lögdlund as Brünnhilde and Anders Lorentzson as Wotan in Götterdämmerung, Markus Schwartz sings doctor Bartolo in Il barbiere di Siviglia and during December Ida Falk Winland will star in the Christmas musical Tinsel and Tumult in the role of Beate Bella Bravura.
